Basketball Beginnings

I am the strength and conditioning coach, and team physician for the Basketball Beginnings organization.  My goal is to condition athletes to their full potential through safe, healthy physical development and sound minds through evidence-based lifestyle and training principles and protocols, while instilling a foundation of strong work ethics, perseverance, and continual strive for excellence.  I believe in educating clients and patients alike in all aspects of health and fitness.  I place particular emphasis on injury prevention and post-injury rehabilitation.   I believe that sports can be a mechanism for steering youth through hardship, keeping them on track, and guiding them on a path to successful futures.

Complete Sports Training

I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-USA), which is an internationally recognized educational association known for its high standards and rigorous examination requirements.  CSCS certification is one of the highest and longest-running distinctions in personal training.  It is widely accepted and respected in the world of competitive athletics and general fitness.  Over twenty years ago, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) created this certification program to identify exercise professionals who meet stringent educational and performance standards.

I graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in June of 2008 and also holds an Honours Bachelors degree in Biology from The University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelors degree in Education from University of Windsor, earning additional qualifications in teaching intermediate level mathematics from OISE/University of Toronto.

Strength & Conditioning Coach
DR. ERIC HO  B.SC. (HONS), B.ED., D.C., RTP, C.S.C.S.

Hello! My name is Dr. Eric Ho. I was born in Montreal, Quebec, but grew up in Sarnia, Ontario, attending Sarnia Northern CI & VS. Since getting involved with athletics in Grade 9, I concentrated on becoming a doctor or therapist of sports. In general, science and math are my strengths and volunteered my time as statistics manager for my Varsity Basketball Team. I went on to become the president of the students’ council and further became involved with various provincial student leadership organizations. I also excelled in sports such as Tae Kwon Do, volleyball and badminton. I have always played a supporting role in any group organization with which I have been affiliated. I believe that successful groups are made up of individuals of varying talents that are utilized effectively for a common purpose or outcome. I have competed in provincial Tae Kwon Do team trials, and am a former member of the Ontario Taekwondo Team. My interests also include volleyball, Tae Kwon Do, weight training, sport-specific conditioning and nutrition.
